January 2001 - Bequia & Back

January 5th we sailed down to Tobago Keys (not Trinidad & Tobago). Wind was on the beam at between 10 & 20 knots & a mild current with us. We arrived at 1500 and dropped anchor a little close to Graecrest, a Hudson Force 50. We paid a visit and met Kate, Russ, and the yorkie terrier Tuffy. The following day we bumped into Marcus and Ushie of Flydi (photo below), who we had met back in Trinidad. We enjoyed a couple of days diving, sharing stories, and testing our Shadetree awnings for wind tolerance (did 25 knot winds no problem... even to take down!). Tobago Keys proved to be a nice stop off before returning DP to Crews Inn for further work. Although it was fairly crowded, so many boats were coming and going that a good portion of the day was fairly open (most boats left between 0800 and 1000 while arrivals were usually later, around 1700).
We left for Tyrell Bay, Carriacou on January 8th. It was only a stop over, as was Prickly Bay, Grenada. The latter, however, was a new experience for us, which we enjoyed immensely.
The trip ended as it had begun.... DP was pulled out, rigging removed, and being prepared for another round of work. This time, teak deck and paint touch-ups.... We did get a chance to explore the north shore of Trinidad (last picture below) - and we both left eager to return.

Next voyage.... well, let's get the teak done first!!
